P-1 for Athletes

You have an internationally recognized reputation as an international athlete or you are a member of a foreign team that is internationally recognized.

Examples: Traditional major league sports, Olympic sports, eSports, Xtreme sports

"Internationally recognized" means a degree of skill and recognition substantially above that ordinarily encountered.

“Professional” athletes are employed by a team which is a member of an association of six or more teams whose total revenues exceed $10 million, or any affiliated minor league team.

Provide 2+ of the following:

1. Participated in a prior season with a major United States sports league

2. Participated in international competition with a national team

3. Participated in a prior season for a U.S. college or university

4. A statement from the governing body which details how the athlete or team is internationally recognized

5. A statement from the sports media which details how the athlete or team is internationally recognized

6. Evidence that the athlete or team is ranked internationally

7. Evidence that the athlete or team has received a significant award

P-1 for Entertainers

You belong to an internationally recognized entertainment group.

Examples: Musical groups, Classical instrument ensembles, Theatre troups, Acrobat or Circus groups.

Requirements:

1. The group has been established and performing regularly for at least 1 year

2. 75% of the group’s integral members must have been performing together for at least 1 year

Evidence of the group's nomination or receipt of significant international awards or prizes

Or 3+ of the following:

1. Leading entertainment group in distinguished productions evidenced by critical reviews, advertisements, publicity releases, publications, contracts, or endorsements

2. International recognition evidenced by reviews in major newspapers, trade journals, magazines, or other published material

3. Performs as a leading group for distinguished organizations evidenced by articles in newspapers, trade journals, publications, or testimonials

4. Major commercial or critically acclaimed successes evidenced by ratings, box office receipts, sales

5. Recognition from expert organizations, critics or government agencies

6. The group has or will command high remuneration

P-3 Culturally Unique

P-2 – You are an artist or entertainer, individually or as a group, who will be performing under a reciprocal exchange program which is between an organization or organizations in the United States.

P-3 – You are an artist or entertainer coming to the United States for the purpose of developing, interpreting, representing, coaching, or teaching a unique or traditional ethnic, folk, cultural, musical, theatrical, or artistic performance or presentation.

Your events will further the understanding or development of your art form. The program may be of a commercial or noncommercial nature.

Required evidence:

1. Letters from recognized experts attesting to the authenticity of your skills in performing, presenting, coaching, or teaching the unique or traditional art form

2. Your performance is culturally unique evidenced by reviews in newspapers, journals, or other published materials

3. All of the performances or presentations will be culturally unique events
